Some pics from Jeff & Joe's Dollies trip. June/July 2003. Unfortunately I don't have the guidebook so can't provide route names. Here's a selection of shots from some of the climbs we knocked off. (NB Total page size is 371Kb and should take ~1.5 mins to download with a 56K modem)

First day saw this 350m monster knocked off. Route starts near the foot of the large chimney system on the left, traverses right then follows a leftward trending line of weakness. Then it's off right again, belaying in the cave that looks like a small rectangular hole (actually quite big when you're belaying in it) then straight up to the top (there's another cliff above which wasn't included in the route). Grade was 4+ (About VS in english) I think. About 10 pitches.

Here's the layby we spent most of our nights in (Pordoi pass). Alt 2500m. Funfingerspitzen in the background.

Joe tackling the crux on a super exposed pitch on the Pordoispitze towers which terminate on the cablecar viewing platform.Vertical height gain of the route ~350m. Grade 4+ - gear placements ~5 (on the entire route!).

Joe reaches the top (ish) of the first Langazuoi tower. We then abseiled and went on to climb the 2nd Langazuoi tower. Grade 4+ again I think. Height gain something like 400m when added together. About 10 pitches.

The Pordiospitze North West Face. The Fidele route. Started out at 3AM with head torches. Finished mid afternoon. 27 pitches of near vertical, run-out (sometimes 10m without gear!), 4+ (though there were a couple of moves that felt more like 5+ to be honest). Vertical height gain 800m!!! That's close on 3 Eiffel Towers! Awesome day out. The route goes pretty much straight up between two black lines on the face visible below and to the right (just) of the large boulder on the scree ledge, then continues up the upper face pretty much directly above the boulder.

Halfway up the upper face on the Fidele route a chimney is entered. Guide book says "panoramic window"; we wondered what it meant.
